Computer Viruses: The Way They Spread

Think of a computer virus the way you think of an actual virus. It can harbor within one computer until that computer does something to release it. For example, when a person coughs or they sneeze they release the bacteria of their virus into the air. Someone who is unsuspecting walks through the germs and they can be infected.

Maybe someone who has a cold doesn’t wash his or her hands properly. They use a public computer, then you use it right after them, you are then contaminated.

The same goes for computer viruses; they lay and wait until some unsuspecting individual causes them to spread by opening a program containing a worm, a Trojan, Spyware or Malware.

The best way to protect you from a computer virus is to download an anti-virus software. Steer clear of anything sent to you that look suspicious, as well as not downloading anything from sites you don’t trust.

Research before downloading any games, music or video through sites promising, “free downloads.” Be sure to read any agreements before you actually click agree. The best way to steer clear of unwanted computer viruses is to be smart in your everyday online activities.
